MADE-TO-MEASURE EXPERIENCES

CENTURIES-OLD OLIVE TREES

| CENTURIES-OLD OLIVE TREES FROM ABOVE |

The Sierra de Sant Pere (or the Serra Solà) extends eastwards and southwards from Canet lo Roig. From the top of this mountain range, you’ll be able to look over a large part of Castellón’s historic region of Maestrazgo, which is home to natural parks, rivers, villages, cities, the Mediterranean and – of course – our highly biodiverse Sea of Olives.

After setting off from Canet, passing by the La Fuente de la Roca spring and crossing its ravine, we’ll ascend to the Solà peak and explore the upper part of this small mountain range. As we work our way along a narrow pass, we’ll learn about the transhumant shepherds and their way of life. Then, before descending to the Cervol River, we’ll be able to enjoy a delicious lunch comprising locally-sourced ingredients. Then, before returning to Canet, we’ll pass through Vilagròs, famous for its monumental olive trees and Roman fountain. Here, we’ll be able to appreciate many of the natural and historic secrets of this ancient Maestrazgo village.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
  • Please bring suitable clothes and footwear for the activity. You’ll also need to bring water (1.5 litres/person) and a sugary snack, just in case.
  • We recommend bringing a hat and sun cream if taking part in this activity between March and October.
  • Includes the opportunity to sample local olive oils.
