MADE-TO-MEASURE EXPERIENCES

A UNIQUE HISTORY

| CORK HARVESTING |

Get ready for an unforgettable experience in the town of Almedíjar, set in the heart of the Mediterranean Jungle. This route allows you to discover the natural and cultural sensory wonders of the Sierra de Espadán, representing a unique opportunity to become acquainted with one of its most prestigious inhabitants: the cork oaks. Nowadays, these trees are the protagonists of one of the most sustainable uses of nature: cork harvesting. Manolo Fuster will offer a demonstration of this centuries-old craft, in which you are sure to be blown away by his artistry.

We’ll receive a detailed explanation of the ins and outs of this activity that is so rarely practised in Castellón, which is the producer of the finest wine corks in Spain. We’ll then have the opportunity to sample Almedíjar’s finest artisan wines and cheeses during a delicious lunch comprising locally-sourced ingredients.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
  • Please bring suitable clothes and footwear for the activity. You’ll also need to bring water (1.5 litres/person) and a sugary snack, just in case.
  • This activity only runs during the cork harvesting season (in and around July).
  • Includes wine and artisan cheese tasting.
  • Possibility of including a set menu lunch of locally-sourced produce at a restaurant.
