| PIRATES AND CRAFT BEER IN IRTA |
The Badúm Tower is one of the emblems of the town of Peñiscola. Formerly known as Al-Madum, this permanent fortress constantly guarded against attacks from Barbary pirates. It stands atop the highest cliff in the entire Valencian Community, standing at 45 metres high. Nowadays, its restored stones simply watch over the incredible coastal landscapes of Peñíscola. However, they also give their name to one of the star products of the local gastronomy: Badúm craft beer. This beer does not undergo industrial processes such as filtering or pasteurisation. Rather, it is brewed in the artisan way, from the milling of the malt to the labelling of the bottles. Over the course of the morning, tourists will learn everything about this tower and its astonishing landscapes. They’ll also discover how the craft beer bearing the tower’s name is brewed, and will have the chance to taste it alongside a selection of “pinchos” that have been carefully paired by expert tasters.
