MADE-TO-MEASURE EXPERIENCES
LET’S HIT THE WATER!
| THE SOURCE OF THE PALANCIA RIVER AND EL MOLINAR |
The landscapes that envelop the sources of the Palancia River are brimming with cliffs, canyons, springs and lush forests and are home to a huge diversity of flora and fauna.
To reach the source, we’ll ford the El Resinero ravine and enter the Estrecho del Cascajar Flora Microreserve, where we’ll be able to find many different species from Mediterranean riparian ecosystems as well as some from colder, more humid climates. At the bottom of a lush strait, having jumped over a series of small waterfalls, we’ll also discover the unique geology that gives rise to many of Castellón’s springs. From the source of the river, squeezed between vertical walls that rarely exceed our arm span in width, flows the purest water that you could ever imagine to see.
We’ll then head to the town of El Molinar, which has access to a small but impressive waterhole with crystalline turquoise water. The scenery is unbeatable, and all those who take a dip are left feeling invigorated. Genuine fluviofelicity!
