| LA TINENÇA DE BENIFASSÀ NATURAL PARK |

We’ll follow a hiking route through the Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park, representing an excellent opportunity to discover the most unspoiled inland landscapes anywhere in the Valencian Community, with forests that seem like they belong in other latitudes and incredible views of this historic region’s iconic limestone mountains.

Stop-off in the gorgeous village of El Ballestar. Guided tour around the Iberian village of La Morranda. Accommodation in the village of El Boixar.

MORNING

Interpretative route

Setting off from the village of Fredes, we’ll head towards the mythical and historical Portell de l’Infern trail, which offers views across magnificent landscapes and moors that were once ancient mule and donkey tracks. As we pass through monumental pine forests and negotiate tremendous cliff tops, we are highly likely to catch a glimpse of griffon vultures and wild goats.

Lunch in the heart of nature

We’ll prepare a delicious lunch made up of locally-sourced products, comprising an opportunity to get a taste of the local culture through its gastronomy.

AFTERNOON

We’ll then resume the route

We’ll descend until we reach the El Salt ravine, before ascending once more to Fredes via the magnificent El Salt de Robert 30-metre-high waterfall, which is home to an indigenous crab reserve. The route will pass by the sources of the iconic Sénia River, which marks the border between the ancient Christian kingdoms of Valencia and Catalonia and passes through forests of yews, holly trees, oaks, maples, ferns and mosses.

Orienteering circuit

Our expert orienteerer will introduce you to the world of orienteering. With a packed lunch in your bag and a map and compass in your hand, you’ll complete an outdoor orienteering circuit on the outskirts of the idyllic village of El Boixar.

AFTERNOON

Pastry workshop

After enjoying a ‘slow’ lunch of locally-sourced ingredients in the house-refuge, you’ll then take part in a traditional pastry workshop. On that day, you’ll go back to your accommodation with your own homemade pastry.
